Talking about RAW photos

What are RAW photos?

I'm talking about extension .CR2 for Canon, .NEF for Nikon, and .ARW for Sony cameras.

I'm gonna stick to .RAW photos because that is the file I use on my camera.

So, RAW photos are like 'negative' photos of your film, if you remember shooting film back in the day?

In general, RAW photos are not presentable to client thus it requires some editing skills to make them presentable. Here's a bit of situation, If I give RAW photos to one of our clients and they're editing are not up to standard ie. bad editing. And that client decided to post those photos online and people would ask who took that photo? of course I took the photo, but the editing was not done by me. People would think I'm a bad photographer and it's not good for my business.

Hence, I never give the RAW photos to my client.

See the below pics for comparison.

This is RAW photo:

This is the edited photo.

The 1st (RAW) photo is sharp, but it needs to processed further to make it presentable. Number 2 (edited) has got richer colour and very presentable to the client.

Here is another example:

All you gotta do is to enjoy the moment and leave the photo shooting and photo editing to us :)
